Lutheran Social Services seeks a Crisis Response professional to provide rapid, compassionate support to individuals and families experiencing behavioral health or housing-related crises. In this role, you will conduct risk and needs assessments, de-escalate high-stress situations, and develop immediate safety and stabilization plans. You'll coordinate with LSS behavioral health, housing, and family services teams, as well as community partners, to connect clients with ongoing support. Working within a mission-driven, faith-based, and client-centered culture, you will document interventions, participate in on-call rotation, and engage in continuous training to ensure high-quality, trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to crisis calls and referrals, conducting prompt risk and needs assessments
  • De-escalate individuals in emotional or behavioral crisis using evidence-based techniques
  • Develop short-term safety and stabilization plans with clients and families
  • Coordinate with behavioral health, housing, medical, and social service providers for immediate support
  • Provide brief counseling, psychoeducation, and resource navigation
  • Document interventions, assessments, and outcomes in electronic records accurately and timely
  • Participate in on-call rotation, including some evenings/weekends/holidays
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to ensure continuity of care
  • Advocate for clients' safety, dignity, and access to needed services
  • Engage in ongoing training, supervision, and quality improvement activities
