Charge Reconciliation Specialist

UP Health System seeks a Charge Reconciliation Specialist to ensure accurate, timely capture of hospital and clinic charges. In this role, you will compare clinical documentation to billing data, identify and resolve discrepancies, and partner with clinical and revenue cycle teams to improve charge accuracy. You will monitor work queues, support audits, and uphold billing and compliance standards. Working in a collaborative, patient-centered environment, you'll contribute directly to financial integrity while gaining opportunities for growth and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile daily clinical charges with billing data for hospital and clinic services
• Identify, research, and resolve charge discrepancies and missing charges
• Review clinical documentation to validate accuracy and completeness of billable services
• Work charge reconciliation and billing work queues within defined timeframes
• Collaborate with clinical, coding, and revenue cycle teams to address charge issues
• Support internal and external audits with accurate charge and billing documentation
• Monitor charge trends, variances, and errors to recommend process improvements
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, payer, and compliance guidelines, including HIPAAPrepare and maintain reconciliation reports and metrics for leadership
• Contribute to a patient-centered culture by supporting accurate, transparent billing
