As a CNC Machinist III at Tecomet, you will set up, operate, and troubleshoot complex CNC equipment to produce high-precision medical and aerospace components. You'll interpret blueprints and CAD models, select tooling and fixtures, and perform in process inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure tight tolerances and regulatory compliance. Working in an engineering-driven, safety-focused environment, you'll edit programs, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with quality and manufacturing teams while mentoring junior machinists and supporting on-time delivery in a regulated, growth-oriented facility.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and adjust CNC mills/lathes to produce precision components to tight tolerances
  • Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and work instructions to plan machining operations
  • Select, install, and qualify tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets for complex jobs
  • Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and CMM or other gauges; document results
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, and nonconformances, recommending process improvements
  • Edit G-code and CNC programs within defined parameters to optimize quality and cycle time
  • Maintain equipment through basic preventive maintenance and keep work area clean and organized
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet safety, quality, and delivery goals
  • Follow GMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements for medical and aerospace components
  • Train or mentor junior machinists on safe and effective machining practices

Required Skills

  • CNC machine setup and operation (mills/lathes)
  • G-code reading and basic editing
  • Blueprint and GD&T interpretation
  • Use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators)
  • CMM or advanced inspection equipment operation
  • Fixture and tooling selection/setup
  • Working with tight tolerances for medical/aerospace components
  • CNC program troubleshooting and optimization
  • Knowledge of GMP, ISO, or similar quality systems
  • Basic preventive maintenance on CNC equipment
