Mobile Maintenance Diesel Mechanic

Ryder System is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Diesel Mechanic to keep our transportation fleet safe, reliable, and on the road. In this field-based role, you'll perform mobile diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel trucks and trailers at customer and Ryder locations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting engine, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems, completing PMIs, responding to breakdowns, and documenting all work in maintenance systems. You'll work in a safety-first, customer-focused environment with opportunities for training, certification support, and career growth across Ryder's operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform mobile diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and related equipment
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance inspections to maximize fleet uptime
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, brake, and engine systems using diagnostic tools and manuals
• Document all work performed, parts used, and inspections in maintenance systems accurately
• Ensure adherence to Ryder and DOT safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
• Respond to roadside or on-site service calls and resolve issues efficiently
• Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and timelines to dispatchers, supervisors, and customers
• Maintain tools, service truck, and work area in safe, clean, and operable condition
