Practice Setting and Clinical Scope

The gastroenterology team serves a patient demographic that includes adults and adolescents, with a focus on consultation rather than direct admissions. You will perform essential procedures such as ERCP and EUS, which are critical for the evaluation and treatment of GI problems and GI bleeds.
Schedule and Assignment Details
Physicians are required to cover 24-hour call shifts, with the flexibility to work seven-day stints. The role demands a proactive approach to consult services, ensuring continuous hospital coverage. The facility requires commitment to specified dates, with future scheduling provided once initial dates are filled. The hospital supports locum coverage throughout the year, providing a reliable and stable work schedule.
Support and Work Environment
While this role does not include dedicated support staff, the facility boasts 24/7 intensivist and hospitalist support, alongside comprehensive trauma services. The EMR system is EPIC, and candidates will receive training to ensure seamless integration into the workflow. Physicians are expected to complete credentialing efficiently, enabling quick onboarding and access to the hospital's systems.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Gastroenterology is mandatory.
- Active DEA license required, with a preference for candidates holding a Colorado license.
- Gastroenterology Fellowship completion is essential.
- Experience with ERCP and EUS procedures is required.
- Clean malpractice and background preferred.
- Local or drive-in candidates are highly favored.
