comprehensive women's healthcare throughout New York City. We are seeking an experienced
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology
to join our growing OB/GYN team.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of experience performing comprehensive
obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations in a busy physician office setting. This
position requires exceptional technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing
compassionate, high-quality patient care.
The Opportunity
Join a collaborative team of board-certified OB/GYN physicians dedicated to delivering
exceptional women's healthcare. As an integral member of our clinical team, you will perform
high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations while working closely with physicians to ensure
accurate diagnoses and outstanding patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive obstetric ultrasound examinations, including:
First trimester dating and viability studies
Nuchal translucency examinations (if certified)
Second trimester fetal anatomy surveys
Third trimester growth ultrasounds
Biophysical profiles (BPPs)
Cervical length, fetal presentation, placental, and amniotic fluid assessments
Perform comprehensive gynecologic ultrasound examinations, including:
Transabdominal and transvaginal pelvic ultrasounds
Evaluation of abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids,
adnexal masses, infertility, and other gynecologic conditions
IUD localization and other physician-requested studies
Clinical & Operational Standards:
Obtain high-quality diagnostic images in accordance with AIUM and ACOG guidelines.
Recognize abnormal findings and promptly communicate urgent results to the
interpreting physician.
Accurately document ultrasound findings and measurements in the electronic medical
record.
Ensure patient comfort, safety, and privacy throughout the examination.
Maintain ultrasound equipment and participate in quality assurance activities.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative
staff to provide efficient, patient-centered care.
Requirements
Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS
with OB/GYN specialty certification required.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience performing obstetric and gynecologic
ultrasound examinations in an outpatient or clinic setting.
Clinical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in first, second, and third trimester obstetric
imaging, as well as extensive experience performing transvaginal and pelvic ultrasound
examinations.
Knowledge Base: Strong working knowledge of fetal anatomy, obstetric dating, and
gynecologic pathology.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a
strong commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications
Nuchal Translucency (NT) certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Experience performing fetal echocardiography is a plus.
Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) EHR system preferred.
