Physician - Radiation Oncology


Job Details:

  • Provide radiation oncology coverage in a collaborative, well-supported department with friendly staff and strong oncology teamwork

  • Work alongside at least 2 Radiation Oncologists at all times - no solo coverage required

  • Typical daily patient volume of approximately 10-16 patients under treatment per physician per day, with 35-50 patients across the physician team

  • Expect approximately 2-3 consults per day, four days per week, with no consults scheduled on OTV day

  • Follow-up volume of approximately 10-12 per week; consults scheduled for 60 minutes and follow-ups for 30 minutes

  • Average of 3-5 CT simulations per day across the team

  • Typical schedule: clinic and treatments from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM; Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday designated for consults, follow-ups, and simulations; Tuesday reserved as OTV day

  • Handle inpatient and outpatient consults, follow-up visits, CT sim orders, treatment planning, critical structures, RT prescriptions, plan approval, imaging orders, and review/approval

  • Collaborate closely with oncology team members and participate in chart rounds, system peer rounds, and tumor conferences

  • Utilize advanced technology including two Varian TrueBeams, Siemens Go Open Pro large bore CT scanner with respiratory gating, Identify Motion Management System, Varian Eclipse treatment planning, MIM, ARIA EMR, and EPIC

  • Required proficiency in EPIC, Varian ARIA, and Eclipse, along with experience using Varian TrueBeam

  • Required skills include: Linear Accelerator, Rapid Arc/VMAT, Electrons, Conventional/Conformal Therapy, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, SRS, 3D CRT, Beam Shaping (MLC), PET CT or MRI Image Fusion, and Electronic Portal Imaging (EPI)

  • Preferred skills include: Hyper Altered Fractionation and Clinical Trials experience

  • Board certification required; minimum board certification eligible accepted

  • Fellowship required

  • BLS certification required

  • Must be onsite during all hours of operation
