MedCare Staffing, Inc. a veteran-owned locum tenens firm is seeking an urgent care physician for flexible coverage at a confidential urgent care clinic near Huntsville, Alabama (Madison area).
Schedule & Volume: Monday Friday 8a 5p and Saturday 8a 12p; expected volume up to 20 visits per day.
Patient Mix & Capabilities: Minor adult and pediatric illnesses, minor trauma/orthopedics, and work-comp physicals. On-site X-ray and basic lab, plus EKG and spirometry. Common procedures include suturing, I&D, lesion destruction, and basic splinting/casting; emergency equipment available.
Clinical Expectations: The locum functions independently. No routine hospital admissions. DOT physicals are not required.
Requirements: Board-eligible required; family medicine or emergency medicine training preferred. Urgent-care procedural experience and EHR familiarity preferred. Active Alabama medical license (or willingness to obtain).
Dates Needed: Ongoing, month to month.
