Obstetrics Physician

A dynamic opportunity awaits an experienced Obstetrics physician seeking locum tenens coverage at a reputable hospital in Clinton, NC. This position involves providing comprehensive OBGYN care, including rounds on patients, on-call coverage for emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries, and conducting any emergent GYN procedures. The hospital provides a supportive environment with hospitalist support, 24/7 on-call anesthesiology and radiology support.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide routine and emergent obstetrical and gynecological care.
• Conduct emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries.
• Perform gynecologic procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with hospitalist and on-call support staff.

Qualifications

• Active NC Medical License and NC DEA
• NC Medicaid Credentialing
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Currently enrolled with Medicare/PECOS
• Fully vaccinated
• Experience in delivering babies (case logs for past 24 months required)
• No recent or open malpractice cases

Working Hours

• 24-hour call coverage
• Must be within 20 minutes of the facility as per hospital bylaws

Skills

• Routine and complicated delivery management, including low forceps and C-sections
• FHR interpretation preferred
• OB Ultrasound performance and interpretation
• Office/minor gynecology procedures: IUD, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP
• Surgical gynecology skills: tubal ligation, ectopic pregnancy surgery, cystectomy, and more
• Laser certification required
