What You ll Do
- Provide expert cardiothoracic surgical care within a hospital setting, including emergency and scheduled cases
- Perform complex procedures such as CABG, arterial revascularization, and heart valve repairs/replacements
- Manage perioperative care and collaborate with anesthesia, nursing, and support staff
- Participate in trauma call coverage and provide coverage for emergency situations
- Document procedures and patient care in Epic EMR
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for team members during assignments
- Comply with hospital policies, safety standards, and legal requirements
What You Need
- Valid Ohio medical license and board certification in cardiothoracic surgery
- At least 2 years of relevant surgical experience
- Proficiency in CABG, arterial revascularization, redo revascularization, pericardial window, and heart valve procedures
- Ability to work 24-hour call shifts and manage trauma cases
- Strong organizational, communication, and team collaboration skills
About the Assignment
This hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery coverage is essential for maintaining high-quality patient care and operational efficiency. The facility performs approximately one case per day across 20 operating rooms and supports trauma Level 2 designation. The role involves providing high-level surgical interventions, emergency call coverage, and ongoing patient management in a dynamic hospital environment.
