Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO)
West Los Angeles, CA (Westchester area, just north of LAX)

Overview:
Our well-resourced student health center at a higher education campus in West Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to provide comprehensive primary care to a young adult patient population. This weekday-only role offers a low patient volume, no call responsibilities, and generous compensation within a supportive, academically backed clinical environment.

Position Offers:

  • Schedule: Monday Friday, 10:00 AM 4:00 PM (30 hours/week)
  • Assignment duration: August 3 December 2026 (Fall Semester)
  • Pay: $145+/hour (1099 contractor, DOE)
  • Malpractice coverage provided
  • Patient volume: 8 12 patients per day expected, with a usual maximum of 5
  • No call responsibilities
  • Strong institutional backing and support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive family medicine care to young adult patients (ages ), including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions such as respiratory issues, STIs, and minor cuts/wounds
  • Perform end-to-end patient care per visit, including vital signs, basic blood draws, and charting, with no on-site medical assistant support
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, coordinating care with specialists and campus resources as appropriate
  • Deliver preventive care services, including screenings, immunizations, and risk assessments tailored to a student population
  • Offer patient-centered counseling and education on lifestyle, mental health, sexual health, and other issues relevant to young adults
  • Document all patient encounters accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), ensuring timely completion of notes and orders
  • Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, providing clinical oversight and case review for complex presentations
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and participate in quality improvement activities and clinical protocol development (approximately 70% clinical, 30% administrative)

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school, with residency completion and Board Certification/Eligibility (BC/BE) in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics
  • Current, unrestricted California medical license, DEA registration, and BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Proven outpatient primary care experience with strong EHR documentation and communication skills, including supervising Nurse Practitioners
