Oncology - Radiation Physician
Radiation Oncology offers an outstanding The department is a collaborative, well supported environment with friendly staff and strong oncology teamwork. When fully staffed, the team includes:
- 4.0 FTE Radiation Oncologists
- 1.0 FTE Radiation Oncologist in Ashland
- 1.8 FTE Medical Physicists, including 0.8 remote support, with active recruiting underway
- 3 Medical Dosimetrists
- 7 Radiation Therapists
- 2.0 FTE RNs staffed daily
- 1 Radiation Oncology Manager
- 1 CA
- 1 Scheduler
This is a busy but well-organized practice. Typical daily volumes include 35-50 patients under treatment across the physician team, with approximately 10-16 patients under treatment per day per MD. There is also an average of 3-5 CT sims per day total. Providers can expect approximately 2-3 consults per day, four days per week, with no consults typically scheduled on OTV day. The follow-up volume is approximately 10-12 per week. Consults are scheduled for 60 minutes and follow-ups for 30 minutes.
The clinical environment is supported by modern technology, including two Varian TrueBeams, a Siemens Go Open Pro large bore CT scanner with respiratory gating, an Identify Motion Management System, Varian Eclipse treatment planning, MIM, ARIA EMR, and EPIC for clinic practice. The team routinely works with CT simulations, 3D, IMRT, VMAT, SRS/SRT, SBRT, and participates in chart rounds, system peer rounds, and tumor conferences.
Required skills include proficiency in EPIC, Varian ARIA, and Eclipse, along with experience using Varian TrueBeam. The A typical schedule includes clinic from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and treatments from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are scheduled for consults, follow-ups, and simulations, with Tuesday reserved as the OTV day for the .
