Locum Tenens Ongoing Coverage

WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a Board Certified Interventional Radiologist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Illinois . This assignment offers a consistent schedule with a combination of onsite procedural coverage, diagnostic radiology, and call responsibilities while supporting multiple facilities within the health system.

Assignment Highlights

• Start Date: ASAP
• Coverage Type: Locum Tenens
• Commitment: Approximately 20 shifts per month (consecutive shifts preferred)
• Schedule: 8 10 hour onsite clinic/procedural shifts followed by night call
• Weekend Coverage: 24-hour call coverage
• Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
• EMR: Epic
• Travel: Mileage, airfare, lodging, rental car and fuel, parking, and ground transportation provided
• Credentialing: Standard credentialing process with cross-credentialing at an affiliated facility

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Interventional Radiologist who is comfortable practicing independently while providing a comprehensive range of image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The physician will work closely with referring providers, hospital teams, and procedural staff to support both inpatient and outpatient services.

Clinical Responsibilities

The Interventional Radiologist will perform a diverse procedural mix including:

• CT and ultrasound-guided biopsies (lung, thyroid, renal, liver, bone, lymph node, and bone marrow)
• Abscess drain placements and exchanges
• Chest tube placement and management
• Biliary interventions
• Gastrointestinal and genitourinary procedures
• Vascular interventions and vascular access procedures
• Hemodialysis access procedures
• Oncology-related interventional procedures

Schedule Overview

Primary Facility

• Four onsite weekday diagnostic shifts
• One mammography shift
• One fluoroscopy shift
• Two general diagnostic shifts
• Two onsite weekend diagnostic shifts (Saturday and Sunday)
• One overnight diagnostic shift
• One 24-hour Interventional Radiology call shift

Secondary Facility

• One onsite weekday diagnostic shift
• Mammography and fluoroscopy coverage
• Weekend remote diagnostic reads supported by the primary facility team

The physician will practice independently and should be comfortable managing cases without onsite physician support.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Interventional Radiology
• Active Illinois medical license
• Active DEA and Illinois CSR
• ACLS certification
• Minimum of one year of Interventional Radiology experience
• Clean background required
• IMLC candidates will not be considered
