Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center and Piedmont Physicians are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible General Neurosurgeon to join our premier, collaborative team. This is a high-volume practice drawing from an 18-county referral base in Northeast Georgia. Practice Highlights
- High Surgical Volume: Currently averaging 400+ cases per surgeon annually.
- Diverse Case Mix: Degenerative spine, adult deformity, peripheral nerve pathology, cranial and spinal oncology, and trauma.
- Dedicated Infrastructure: Features a dedicated neuro floor staffed by specialized nurses, physical therapists, and social workers.
- Advanced Technology: Equipped with 4 (1.5T) MRIs, 6 CTs, Stealth imaging systems, 2 O-arms, and 3 surgical microscopes.
- OR Efficiency: Operates on a block scheduling system; dedicated block time is guaranteed for the incoming surgeon upon arrival.

Balanced Call Schedule:
- Practice call is covered by Neurosurgical APPs and shared among partners.
- Trauma call is shared with an external local group (moving to a highly manageable 1:8 rotation).
- No pediatric or neurovascular call requirements.
