Computed Tomography Technician (CT) - $40,000 Sign on Bonus

**This position is in Laredo, TX. **

Responsible for the operation of diagnostic CT and the performance of all CT procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Possess a positive and courteous attitude and take the initiative to go beyond what is expected in a teamwork environment.

Job Functions:

• Identifies each patient, reviews each patient's chart and previous examinations for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis), and records pertinent data at all times.
• Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
• Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper film identification on all images.
• Must be able to take call when required.
• Must perform quality control.

Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology; Associate degree preferred.
• Previous experience as a CT-Tech in an acute care environment is preferred.

Licensure:

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Certification by A.R.R.T on Computer Tomography or registry eligible.
• Certification by Texas Medical Board
• BLS Required

Skills:

• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas.
• Knowledge of radiographic examinations as well as procedures that require the use of contrast agents.
• Knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.
• Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning technique.
