Coverage Need

Seeking General Gastroenterologists for ongoing hospital coverage at multiple Richmond-area hospitals.

Current Openings

Advanced GI (ERCP Required)

• Ongoing weekday coverage
• 24-hour weeknight call
• Weekend call coverage
• Must perform ERCP (EUS preferred)

General GI (ERCP Not Required)

• Monday-Friday
• 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Covers inpatient GI consults
• Advanced procedures not required

Current Open Coverage Dates (Advanced GI)

• August 3 (7:00 AM) - August 10 (7:00 AM)
• August 31 (7:00 AM) - September 1 (7:00 AM)
• September 14 (7:00 AM) - September 21 (7:00 AM)

Weekend Coverage

• Every weekend needed
• Friday 5:00 PM - Monday 7:00 AM
• 24-hour call coverage
• Must be able to manage GI emergencies
• ERCP required (EUS experience preferred)

Schedule

Weekday General GI

• Monday-Friday
• 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Minimum of 6 hours onsite daily (typically beginning at 7:00 AM)

Advanced GI

• 24-hour call
• Weeknight call
• Weekend call coverage

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology - Required
• Active Virginia Medical License (or ability to obtain)
• ERCP proficiency - Required for Advanced GI coverage
• EUS experience - Preferred

Practice Details

• Inpatient Hospitalist Gastroenterology
• Average patient volume: Approximately 1 patient per day
• GI emergencies and inpatient consults
• General GI coverage available for physicians who do not perform ERCP
• One campus has dedicated GI Nurse Practitioner support
• Hospital actively recruiting permanent GI physicians to expand the call panel
