Maintenance Technician A, B or C
Transdev in Cuba, NY is seeking an A, B, or C-Level Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across a variety of vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and longevity of our fleet.
New to the industry? We'd still like to hear from you! We are willing to train motivated technicians with minimal experience. If you have a valid CDL and your own basic mechanic's toolbox, we'll provide the training and support you need to build your career with Transdev.
Transdev is proud to offer:
- $24.42-$26.75 per hour, depending on Grade Level (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Pay Scale)
- $3,000 Sign-On Bonus for CDL holders, $2000 Sign-On Bonus for Non-CDL holders

ASE Incentive Program
- Technicians must become Master Certified in one primary ASE category before becoming eligible for pay increases on a secondary category (Transit, Heavy Truck, or Automotive for Technician C only).
- Earn an additional $0.15/hour for each primary ASE test passed.
- Earn an additional $0.20/hour once Master Certified in your primary category.
- After achieving Master Certification, earn an additional $0.25/hour for each ASE certification earned in other approved categories.
- (Allowing certifications to expire will result in the loss of applicable premiums.)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics with advanced diagnostics and repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns and maximize vehicle performance.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and determine effective repair strategies.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, overhauls, and component rebuilds to manufacturer specifications.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Preferred: At least 1 year of diesel mechanic experience.
- We are willing to train candidates with minimal experience who have a strong work ethic, a valid CDL, and their own mechanic's toolbox.
- Valid driver's license held for a minimum of three years.
- ASE certifications required; company ASE certification program provided.
- Mechanic's tool set required.
- CDL Class B with appropriate endorsements (training available for required endorsements, if needed).
- Must be able to pass a DOT drug test and physical, if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
- Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
