Facility in Elkader, IA seeking EM PA-c locums coverage Rates: $130/hr Opportunity Highlights
  • PRN Schedule: Seeking coverage for various 10-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour shifts, including multiple holiday and weekend blocks spanning December 2025 through May 2026.
  • Sole Provider Responsibility: Function as the sole provider for both the Emergency Department (ED) and the Med/Surg Inpatient Unit.
  • Low Volume: The facility is low volume:
    • ED Average: 3.6 patients per shift.
    • Med/Surg Inpatient Census: 1.4 patients per shift.
  • Support Staff: Supported by 2 RNs and 1 Paramedic per shift, plus occasional CNAs and NPNs.
  • EMR: The facility uses EPIC for charting.
  • Privileging: Temporary Privilege is an option to expedite the credentialing process.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive care as the sole provider in the ED and Med/Surg units.
  • Manage Emergency Care, Inpatient, and Skilled Care cases.
  • Inpatient Responsibilities are required.
  • Manage the ED average of 3.6 patients and Med/Surg census of 1.4 patients.
Provider Requirements
  • Board Status: Board Certified is REQUIRED.
  • Experience: Experience in Emergency Care and Inpatient Management is necessary.
  • Licensure: Active Iowa (IA) License is REQUIRED.
  • Certifications: Active DEA and CSR in hand are REQUIRED.
  • Background: Clean Malpractice/No Background issues are REQUIRED.
Start Date
  • The first coverage block begins December 24, 2025.
