Physician - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
- Locum Tenens opportunity available ASAP on an ongoing basis
- Shift hours run from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in an endoscopy setting with an unpaid one-hour lunch break
- Most procedures are performed with moderate sedation
- Upper endoscopy procedures are approximately 30 minutes per case
- Colonoscopy procedures are approximately 30 minutes per case
- Combined procedures are approximately 60 minutes per case
- Perform upper GI endoscopy including with biopsy, foreign body removal, and fulguration of bleeders (cautery vs. laser)
- Perform small bowel biopsy procedures
- Perform lower GI endoscopy and sigmoidoscopy (flexible required, rigid preferred)
- Perform colonoscopy including with biopsy and excision of polyp
- Esophageal dilatation/manometry and esophageal manometry interpretation preferred
- Board certification required with ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Active DC, MD, or IMLC license required to be considered
- Estimated credentialing timeframe of 60-90 days
- Nearest airports include DCA, IAD, and BWI
