Physician - Surgery - General

Job Details:
  • Locum Tenens opportunity providing consistent on-call and clinic coverage on a monthly basis
  • 10 on-call shifts per month with 3 eight-hour days of clinic during that time, totaling 24 hours of clinic coverage
  • Up to 2 eight-hour days of elective cases available depending on surgical volumes
  • Ideal candidate would commit to 10 days of coverage per month for consistency of care
  • Must be Board Certified in General Surgery
  • Kansas license or IMLC required to be considered
  • Estimated credentialing timeframe of 60-90 days
  • BLS certification required
  • Required surgical skills include general surgery for adult, pediatric, and trauma patients
  • Laparoscopic surgery required including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty
  • GI endoscopy required including upper endoscopy and sigmoidoscopy
  • Preferred skills include chest wall and pleural procedures, breast surgery, hand surgery, and vascular surgery
  • Preferred vascular surgery skills include aneurysm repairs, arterial bypass, peripheral vascular, vascular access devices, and AV shunt
  • Preferred procedural skills include ventilation management, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, PA catheter placement, and laser certification
  • Additional preferred pediatric surgical skills include atresias, abdominal wall defects, umbilical defects, diaphragmatic hernia, imperforate anus, and PDA ligation

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
