- Surgical First Assist
- Robotic Surgery
- General Surgery procedures
- Orthopedic procedures (preferred)
- OB/GYN procedures, including C-sections
- Hip fracture cases
- Cauterization
- Hemostasis
- Wound closure (sutures, staples, adhesives)
- Surgical suction, drainage, and irrigation
- Patient positioning and immobilization
- Medical/Surgical floor rounding
- Order management
- Progress notes
- Consults and discharges
- Licenses: Active New York license required
- Board: Board Certified
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and ATLS required
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent Surgical First Assist experience
- EMR: Epic experience required
- Other Qualifications: Robotics experience required; Orthopedic experience strongly preferred
- Provide Surgical First Assist coverage in the operating room
- Provide Medical/Surgical floor coverage
- Round on hospitalized patients
- Manage patient orders, consults, and discharges
- Assist with General Surgery, Orthopedic, and OB/GYN cases
- Participate in weekend and weekday call coverage
- Document patient care accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
