Associate Attorney
We are seeking an Associate Attorney. This is a great opportunity for a highly-motivated attorney be an integral part of a growing firm. You will represent clients in unlawful detainer and other civil proceedings, as well as administrative hearings with the City of Los Angeles and/or the rent control board.
Responsibilities:
Represent clients in court or before government agencies
Represent landlords and affordable housing providers in housing-related issues, including: inception/termination of tenancy; Fair Housing and similar complaints.
Motion practice, including drafting complaints/responsive pleadings.
Draft and argue your own motions in court
Propound and respond to discovery
Take and defend depositions
Prepare and draft legal documents
Advise clients on business and legal transactions
Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
Qualifications:
Prior civil litigation experience preferred
Previous experience in unlawful detainer preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish Speaker preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be a licensed State Bar of California member; no paralegals, legal assistants, or office managers needed.
Salary range is $100K to $150K, or commensurate with experience.
