The Facility Operator at our frac hub in Odessa, Texas, plays a crucial role in maintaining safe and efficient operations involving chemical handling and equipment management. This position requires adherence to safety protocols, meticulous handling of materials, and coordination with team members to support a 24/7 operation in the oil and gas industry.
Responsibilities
- Safely receive, store, and transfer chemicals between railcars and bulk trucks
- Operate pumps, valves, hoses, and other transfer equipment efficiently
- Collect samples, perform basic testing, and complete accurate reports
- Complete shipping and receiving paperwork with attention to detail
- Operate certified truck scales to ensure proper weight measurements
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and promptly report problems
- Report accidents, incidents, and near misses immediately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility environment
- Participate in safety meetings, environmental audits, and training sessions
- Operate heavy equipment such as Yard Mule, forklift, and rail car mover
- Assist with maintaining environmental, health, safety, and security standards
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated, dependable, and focused on safety
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Capable of climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in chemical plants, oil and gas, manufacturing, or warehousing
- Forklift or heavy equipment operation experience
- Knowledge of safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience loading and unloading railcars or tanker trucks
