This medical center is a well-established community hospital offering comprehensive pediatric surgical services within a 33-bed department. The facility holds a Level 3 Pediatric designation and is supported by strong unit and provider resources, making it an excellent environment for delivering specialized pediatric surgical care.

Physician - Surgery - Pediatric

Job Details:

• Provide pediatric surgical services with 2 patient encounters per shift on a locum tenens basis
• Must hold an active Arizona medical license
• Board certification required; estimated credentialing timeframe is 30 days
• Required certifications include ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS
• Perform pediatric and neonatal general surgery; trauma experience preferred
• Perform laparoscopic procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, and Nissen fundoplication
• Perform head and neck surgery including thyroid procedures
• Perform chest wall and pleural procedures, breast surgery, and GI endoscopy (upper and lower including sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy)
• Perform minor orthopedics and hand surgery
• Manage ventilation and perform chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and PA catheter placement
• Vascular surgery required including aneurysm repairs (thoracic and abdominal), arterial bypass (peripheral), vascular access devices, and AV shunt
• Laser certification required
• Pediatric-specific procedures required: esophageal, intestinal, and biliary atresias
• Abdominal wall defect repairs including gastroschisis, umbilical hernia, and omphalocele
• Diaphragmatic hernia repair, imperforate anus repair, and PDA ligation required

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
