Medical Center of the Rockies, a Level I Trauma Center, is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant OR First Assist to join their Cardiac Surgery team. This is a full time opportunity working with a well established adult cardiac program.

️ Schedule & Call

• Full Time: 4 ten hour shifts per week
• Call:
  • 1 night per week
  • 1 weekend per month
• Start Dates: September
  • Credentialing timeframe: days

Required Procedures

Candidates must be proficient in the following:

• CABG with EVH and endoscopic radial harvesting
• General Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Open & endoscopic approaches
• Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
  • On pump & off pump
• Congenital defect repairs: ASD, VSD, PFO
• Valvular procedures
  • Repair & replacement
• Aneurysm repairs
  • Including aorto thoracic
• Lung resections (including VATS)
• Chest wall & pleural procedures
• Esophagus & diaphragm surgeries
• Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs)
• Insertion of arterial lines

About the Position

• Patient Population: 100% adult
• Surgical Volume: 1 3 cases per day
• Physicians in Practice: 5
• Advanced Practice Providers:
  • 3 OR First Assists
  • 6 ICU
  • 2 Floor
  • 1 Clinic
• Supervision Required: No
• Other Thoracic Surgeons On Site: Yes
• Clinic Responsibilities: None

• Hospital Beds: 300
• ICU Beds: 12 bed CICU
• Trauma Level: I
• Lab & X Ray: On site
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Call Coverage:
  • Only at Medical Center of the Rockies
  • No coverage at other hospitals in the region
• Coverage Scope:
  • Cardiac Surgery only
  • No vascular coverage
