Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner opening in Colorado Springs, COFull-time, PermanentAn established cardiothoracic surgery program in Colorado is seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner with cardiac or cardiovascular surgery expertise and ICU patient management experience to join a collaborative, patient-centered surgical team focused on delivering advanced cardiothoracic care. Collaborative cardiothoracic surgery team environment Mix of operating room, ICU, inpatient rounding, and clinic responsibilities High-acuity cardiovascular patient population Opportunity to assist in advanced cardiac surgical procedures Strong physician and intensivist collaborationKey Responsibilities Provide advanced clinical care for cardiothoracic surgery patients Assist in cardiac surgeries, including: Endoscopic vein harvesting First assisting as needed Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgery patients Round on CVICU, floor, and clinic patients Participate in two full-day clinics weekly Rotate through operating room coverage Monday-Friday Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, intensivists, and multidisciplinary staff Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic studies Develop and implement treatment and follow-up plans Prescribe medications in accordance with regulatory guidelines Perform bedside procedures as appropriate Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Function independently with expert clinical judgment under physician supervisionSchedule & Call Monday-Friday operating room rotation Two full clinic days weekly Rotating call schedule: 1:4-5 weekday call 1:4-5 weekend call Overnight in-house NP coverage from 8:30 PM - 6:30 AMCompensation & Benefits Compensation Annual salary: $100,588 - $143,769 based on experience Quality and productivity bonuses available Relocation bonus for qualifying candidates Paid malpractice insurance Benefits Package Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance Dependent coverage available CME allowance 403(b) retirement plan with employer match Optional 457(b) retirement plan Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) eligibility PTO available from day one Paid family and medical leave Tuition assistance and educational support programsRequirements Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master's degree in Nursing Current Nurse Practitioner certification through ANCC or AANPCB Minimum 3+ years of cardiac or cardiovascular surgery experience with ICU patient management OR experience with endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting Unrestricted DEA license Full prescriptive authority Unrestricted medical staff membership with appropriate privileges BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross Eligible for Medicare and Medicaid provider participation No current or prior sanctions/exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA exclusion lists Current NPDB Self-Query report required
