Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a fleet of construction equipment and dump trucks used in grading and public works projects.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical skills, problem-solving ability, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, including:
• • Excavators, loaders, graders, compactors
  • Dump trucks and trailers
• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, hydraulics, etc.)
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
• Maintain service records and logs for all equipment
• Coordinate with operations team to prioritize repairs
• Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently
• Perform field service repairs when needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Experience working on construction equipment and dump trucks
• Ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately
• Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus)
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
