Cardiology Nurse Practitioner

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner with experience in cardiovascular, cardiothoracic surgery, or critical care to support a high-acuity inpatient program in Charlotte, NC. This is a nocturnist role offering a consistent 7-on/7-off schedule in a collaborative academic environment.

• Schedule: 7 on / 7 off
• Shift: 6:30 PM 6:30 AM (12-hour nights)
• Start Date: ASAP (credentialing 90 days)
• Contract: Minimum 3 months with strong extension potential (long-term need)

• Nocturnal coverage for vascular surgery ICU (co-managed) and floor patients
• Manage cardiothoracic surgery floor patients (no CT ICU coverage required)
• Perform limited procedures:
  • Chest tube management
  • Chest tube removal (no insertions)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage complex surgical patients

• No OR responsibilities
• No call required
• Focused inpatient care without procedural overload
• Direct access to clinical leadership and program management
• Established care teams and strong physician/APP collaboration
• Travel and lodging available for qualifying candidates

• Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner
• Active North Carolina license or pending application
• Active DEA (can transfer address if needed)
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Experience in cardiovascular, cardiothoracic surgery, or critical care
• Comfortable performing listed bedside procedures

• Large, well-supported academic medical center
• High-acuity cardiovascular patient population
• Team-based, collaborative clinical model
