We are seeking an experienced Adult Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive outpatient psychiatric care in Barstow, California. This is an in-person contract opportunity with a minimum assignment duration of three months. Candidates available for 32+ hours per week are preferred , although providers available for 20+ hours per week will also be considered.
The psychiatrist will assume medical responsibility for adult patients under their direct care and supervision, delivering evidence-based psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, medication management, and ongoing follow-up care while collaborating with multidisciplinary treatment teams.

Job Responsibilities- Assume medical responsibility for adult patients under direct care and supervision.
- Perform psychiatric intakes and comprehensive assessments using evidence-based practices.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, examinations, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Request and review medical history and treatment records from outside providers as needed.
- Provide direct patient care, including psychiatric follow-up visits and medication management.
- Identify patient needs requiring medical management and review laboratory results, diagnostic studies, and specialty consultations relevant to patient care.
- Manage an appropriate outpatient caseload.
- Prepare detailed documentation of assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and clinical summaries in compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
- Lead multidisciplinary treatment team discussions.
- Provide consultation, education, and counseling to families, caregivers, and healthcare providers regarding routine and emergency psychiatric concerns.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate patient care and consultation services.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, revising, and implementing standardized treatment protocols and evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Stay current with developments in psychiatry and communicate relevant clinical updates to providers and leadership.
- Prepare legal documentation, written reports, and provide court testimony when required.
- Maintain compliance with licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Complete additional duties and assignments as needed.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist.
- Active and unrestricted California medical license (or ability to obtain).
- DEA registration (if applicable).
- Experience providing outpatient psychiatric care.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Excellent clinical documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of state, federal, and accreditation standards governing psychiatric practice.
