Emergency Medicine Physician

We areseeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenensopportunity in St. Johns, Michigan. This assignment offers a manageable patientvolume, Epic EMR, and the opportunity to provide comprehensive emergency carein a Level IV Trauma Center.

• Schedule:
• July & August: Two day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and seven night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• September: Additional shifts available, primarily nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours

• Annual ED Volume: Approximately 13,800 visits
• Average Daily Volume: 32-50 patients
• Emergency Department Beds: 10
• Trauma Designation: Level IV
• EMR: Epic

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide range of emergency medical conditions.
• Respond to hospital codes as needed.
• Interpret EKGs, with final review provided by cardiology.
• Collaborate with admitting physicians, who manage admission orders.
• Stabilize obstetrical patients requiring higher levels of care and coordinate transfer to Sparrow Lansing Labor & Delivery.
• Provide timely, patient-centered emergency care while working collaboratively with nursing and hospital staff.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
• Active Michigan medical license
• Current ACLS certification
• Current ATLS certification
• Experience practicing in a community emergency department preferred
