Gastroenterology Job Requirements

• MD or DO with active physician credentials
• Minimum of 1 year of gastroenterology experience required
• Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology
• Active ACLS certification required
• Strong inpatient gastroenterology and hospital consult experience preferred
• ERCP experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage complex GI consults
• Familiarity with advanced endoscopic procedures

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage inpatient GI consults, ED consults, and transfer cases
• Perform required endoscopic procedures, including upper GI endoscopy, lower GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy
• Complete procedures such as biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeders, and injection of varices
• Perform PEG placement and management, liver biopsy, and esophageal dilation/manometry
• Provide small bowel biopsy services and manage Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion and care
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP when indicated, if qualified
• Support high-quality, patient-centered care in an acute care and inpatient gastroenterology environment
