General Surgery Job Requirements

• Board certified in General Surgery
• At least 1 year of general surgery experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Experience with adult general surgery cases required
• Trauma surgery experience required
• Comfort performing laparoscopic surgery, appendectomy, and cholecystectomy
• Ability to manage ventilation, chest tube insertion, and central line insertion
• Experience with GI endoscopy preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide general surgery coverage in a high-acuity clinical setting
• Evaluate and treat adult patients with a range of surgical needs
• Perform operative and procedural general surgery services
• Respond to trauma-related surgical cases as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to ensure safe, timely, and effective patient care
• Maintain thorough documentation and support continuity of care across the department
