JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Medical Oncology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Minneapolis, MN Service Setting: Hospital inpatient service Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Aug 10, 2026 Nov 09, 2026 Clinical Shift Schedule: Inpatient: Monday 8:00am following Monday 8:00am, 8-10 hour days; Outpatient: Mon Fri, 8:00am 5:00pm On-Call Shift Schedule: Monday 8:00am following Monday 8:00am (overnight call from home) Call Type: Home Call PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Volume/Census: 20-25 per day Case Mix: Malignant and Benign Oncology, Hematology FACILITY INFORMATION Specialty Backup Available: Nurse Triage Service, Hospitalist PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 90 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES Malignant and Benign Oncology Inpatient Malignant Medical Oncology Management Hematology Consults JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active MN license or Universal License (IMLC) Board: Board Certification in Oncology and Hematology required Experience: Experience in inpatient malignant medical oncology and hematology DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the medical oncology team and supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) Conduct inpatient rounds and manage malignant medical oncology patients Perform new consults for inpatient and outpatient services Provide hematology consultations for both inpatient and outpatient Handle overnight call from home for medical oncology-specific calls, ensuring same-day documentation for all encounters
