We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing a wide variety of residential and commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in mechanical, refrigeration, and control systems with top-tier customer service and communication skills.
Core Responsibilities
Technical & Field Operations
- Diagnose, Repair, & Install: Efficiently troubleshoot, service, and install residential and commercial HVAC systems, ensuring all work meets local codes and manufacturer specifications.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex control loops, mechanical components, and refrigeration-related issues to identify root causes and implement lasting fixes.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform thorough preventative maintenance services (e.g., cleaning coils, checking refrigerant charges, testing safety controls) to optimize system efficiency and longevity.
- Customer & Team Communication
- Client Relations: Communicate professionally and empathetically with homeowners and commercial property managers, explaining technical issues and repair options in clear, non-technical terms.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with dispatch, service managers, and fellow technicians to ensure smooth scheduling, parts ordering, and job handoffs.
- Documentation & Administration
- Accurate Record-Keeping: Complete all service documentation, digital work orders, invoices, and parts logs accurately and efficiently before leaving the job site.
- Job Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in HVAC service and repair (residential, commercial, or a mix of both).
- Certifications:
- EPA Section 608 Certification required (Universal preferred).
- NATE Certification is a strong plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical schematics, gas furnaces, heat pumps, and low-voltage control systems.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces), and navigate roofs or ladders safely.
