Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon Iowa & Illinois
Position Overview
Seeking a Board Certified, Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to provide hospital-based inpatient orthopedic trauma coverage at two locations in Iowa and Illinois. This is an ongoing locum opportunity with 24-hour call coverage and no outpatient clinic responsibilities.
Compensation:
24 Hour On Call: $3500 per 24 hours
Call Back: $610
Schedule
Start: ASAP
Ongoing coverage
7 10 shifts per month
24-hour shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 AM)
Hospital-based call only
No clinic responsibilities
Must remain within 30 minutes of the assigned facility while on call
Operating room access available daily
Practice Setting
Hospital-based
Inpatient only
Level III Trauma Centers
Coverage at two hospital campuses approximately 13 miles apart
Responsibilities
Provide inpatient orthopedic trauma coverage
Manage orthopedic trauma consults and admissions
Perform same-day add-on orthopedic trauma surgeries
Participate in 24-hour pager call
Round on orthopedic trauma patients
No outpatient clinic responsibilities.
Case Mix
Orthopedic trauma
Fracture management
Urgent orthopedic surgical cases
Total joint experience is not required.
Support
Collaborative orthopedic surgery team
Advanced Practice Providers
OR nursing staff
Medical imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy services available
No supervision of APPs required.

Requirements
Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
Fellowship Trained in Orthopedics/Orthopedic Trauma
Active Iowa and Illinois licenses, or
Active Iowa or Illinois license with Active IMLC, or
Active IMLC Letter of Qualification (LOQ)
Must be willing to cover both hospital locations
Experienced orthopedic trauma surgeon
Clean malpractice and background history
Current Self-Query NPDB report (dated within the current month)
