Interventional Cardiology Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $10,030-$11,880 per week
• Location: Mechanicsville, VA 23116 - a convenient Central Virginia cardiology assignment with suburban comfort and easy access to Richmond-area amenities
• Setting: Inpatient / Call
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Start Date: July 13, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts
• Schedule: Monday-Friday on-site coverage from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Call Coverage: Weekday evening call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM and weekend call from Saturday 7:00 AM to Monday 7:00 AM
• Average Workload: Approximately 2 inpatient admissions per physician per day
• EMR: EPIC
• Credentialing: Emergency or temporary privileges may be available for an expedited start

Interventional Cardiologist Job Requirements

• Board certification required
• Minimum 1 year of interventional cardiology experience required
• Active Virginia medical license required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications required
• Clean malpractice history required
• Current self-query NPDB report within 30 days required at presentation

Interventional Cardiology Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient interventional cardiology coverage and participate in call coverage
• Perform advanced procedures including balloon angioplasty, coronary angioplasty, PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention), coronary angiograms, cardiac catheterization, embolic protection, carotid artery stenting, and atherectomy
• Support the medical management of vascular disease
• Complete inpatient rounding responsibilities as needed
• Collaborate with the cardiology team and other interventional cardiologists to ensure seamless, high-quality patient care
• Deliver care for adult and geriatric patients in a supportive, patient-centered environment
