We are a smaller trucking company seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic specialized in heavy duty trucks and trailers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance, working independently with required tools to ensure our fleet operates efficiently and safely. This full-time role offers competitive pay starting at $25 - $35+ per hour, based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits including retirement account, health and dental insurance, and paid time off.
Responsibilities
- Grease and service trucks, trailers, and machinery
- Perform scheduled oil changes
- Change and repair tires as needed
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy duty vehicles
- Perform diesel diagnostics and troubleshooting using standard hand tools and proprietary equipment
- Maintain and service equipment independently
- Ensure timely maintenance and repairs to maintain fleet safety
- Provide occasional on-call or emergency repairs as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in diesel engine repair
- Proficiency in diesel diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Strong mechanical repair and preventative maintenance skills
- Experience with tire repair and oil change procedures
- Ability to service heavy duty trucks and trailers
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills and techniques
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working independently in a mechanic role
- Familiarity with using required tools for equipment servicing
- Availability for occasional on-call or emergency repairs
