The Role: We are experiencing continuous growth and are seeking an experienced Lead Propane Dispatcher to drive our Stockton expansion. In this critical operational role, you will be the hub of our facility-utilizing dispatch software to optimize daily routes while directly managing and leading a dedicated team of 5-10 commercial drivers.
Core Responsibilities:
Routing & Logistics: Plan, distribute, and monitor daily route assignments using dispatch software to ensure customers receive exceptional, strictly scheduled deliveries.
Driver Leadership: Manage day-to-day responsibilities for a team of 5-10 drivers, including monitoring time and attendance to maximize efficiency and minimize unnecessary overtime.
Real-Time Problem Solving: Think critically on your feet to resolve on-the-road logistical hurdles, route changes, and organize resources to hit daily operational goals.
Customer Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for customers and Account Managers regarding delivery timelines, service requests, and logistical updates.
Safety & Compliance: Champion a proactive safety culture, ensuring all driving staff adhere to strict safety protocols and compliance standards.
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications):
Experience: 3 to 5 years of direct experience in commercial dispatching, fleet routing, or logistics management. (Propane, fuel, or hazardous materials transport experience is highly preferred).
Leadership: Proven track record of managing, directing, or supervising a team of commercial drivers or field staff.
Technical Skills: High proficiency in professional dispatching/routing software systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Geographic Knowledge: Strong understanding of California / Central Valley geography, traffic patterns, and routing times.
Communication: Professional phone etiquette with a demonstrated commitment to high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment.
