Family Practice - Without OB Physician

A nonprofit community-based organization is seeking locum tenens coverage. We are seeking a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to join a collaborative, mission-driven team serving a diverse and underserved patient population.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, multispecialty environment with access to onsite imaging, laboratory, behavioral health, dental, optometry, pharmacy, and additional specialty services.

Position Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Assignment Length: 3-4 months with potential extension
• Schedule Options:
  • Five 8-hour shifts per week with one evening shift weekly (12 PM - 9 PM) and one Saturday per month
  • OR four 9-hour shifts weekly
• Additional evening or Saturday coverage may occasionally be needed for vacation/CME coverage
• Full-time opportunity

Patient Volume

• Average of 20-24 patients per 8-hour shift
• Average of 24-27 patients per 9-hour shift
• Scheduling structure designed to avoid back-to-back complex visits
• Approximate no-show/cancellation rate: 15-20%

Prebooked Schedule

• 8-hour providers: 22 scheduled + 4 walk-ins
• 9-hour providers: 26 scheduled + 4 walk-ins

Scope of Practice

• Primary care for all ages
• Pediatric, adult, and women's health
• Office-based procedures

Support & Practice Environment

• Team-based care model alongside physicians and APPs
• Support staff includes:
  • 2 Medical Assistants (back office)
  • 0.5 MA (front office)
• Onsite specialty services include:
  • Dental
  • Optometry
  • Behavioral Health
  • Pharmacy
  • Chiropractic
  • Podiatry
  • Imaging & Laboratory Services

EMR

• eClinicalWorks (eCW)
• Templates and macros available for efficiency
• Built-in catch-up/admin blocks included during shifts
• Notes must be completed within 72 business hours

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Active California Medical License
• Active DEA License
