Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Anesthesiology Physician, you will join our collaborative team at St. Joseph Medical Center (SJMC). SJMC is a 385 bed, Level II Trauma, tertiary care medical center in downtown Tacoma. As part of our team, you will be dedicated to improving quality, enhancing patient experience, and advancing clinical standards for those we serve.


Every day you will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic well-being of our patients and their families.


To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled, board-certified, and compassionate Anesthesiologist. You will also demonstrate a deep commitment to patient-centered care and the capacity to thrive within a collegial and supportive environment.

  • Interested in working with surgical specialties that include OB, Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Trauma, ENT as well as Gastroenterology, Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology, and NeuroInterventional Radiology.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of new patients
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated approach to care
  • Stay current with research and best practices in Anesthesiology to provide evidence-based care

We are offering a guaranteed salary up to $700,000/year, starting bonus, and relocation assistance. Extra shift work income is available. Retirement plans include both 401(k) and 457(b).


Job Requirements

Required

  • Completed ACGME Accredited Anesthesiology Residency
  • Board Certified Anesthesiology (ABA) or eligible and will become board certified within 24 months of training completion.
  • State of Washington Medical License in good standing. No history of license actions or disciplinary matters.
  • Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice

Preference

  • 2 or more years of experience in a Level I or II trauma center
  • EPIC Experience

Pay Range
$600,000 - $700,000 /year
