Neonatology Physician

Coverage Needed

• Start Date: 08/07/2026
• End Date: Ongoing
• Urgent need 08/07 6am - 08/11 6am
• Schedule: 24-hour beeper call only; 6am-6am; response time 20-30 minutes

Clinical Details

• EMR System: Epic
• Practice Settings: Inpatient
• Don't do central line placement outside the newborn period (UVC and UAC are technically central lines but only for neonates)
• Chest tubes, intubations for pediatric patients would most likely occur in the ED
  • ED docs and anesthesia would typically have significantly more experience here
• Required Procedures:
  • Neonatal airway management including intubation
  • Management of neonatal air leak/pneumothorax including needle decompression
  • Emergent UVC placement (delivery room)
  • UVC/UAC placement
  • Lumbar puncture
  • EKG interpretation
• Preferred Procedures:
  • Ventilator management
  • Chest tube insertion (neonates)
• NICU patients down to 32 weeks, newborn resuscitations and management of 32 week preemies and up

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible within 3-5 years of residency
• Neonatology experience preferred
  • Peds hospitalist with neonatology experience is acceptable
• Two years of current clinical activity in specialty
• Licensed in California
• ACLS; BLS; PALS; NRP; DEA
• Credentialing Timeframe: 15 days
• RFA, CV, and 24 months of relevant activity
• Clean files/applicant
