Anesthesiology Physician

This is an ongoing locum anesthesiology opportunity providing weekend and call coverage due to a staffing shortage at a high-volume hospital system in Omaha, Nebraska. The physician will work independently across a broad range of surgical specialties while collaborating with anesthesia providers, CRNAs, and anesthesia technicians in a hospital setting performing approximately 3,600 inpatient and outpatient surgeries annually.

Dates/Schedule

Start Date: ASAP, July and ongoing

Weekly Coverage Needed:

• Friday: 5:00 PM 7:00 AM
• Saturday: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM (24-hour coverage)
• Sunday: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM (24-hour coverage)

Coverage Need: Ongoing weekend coverage

FTE: 1.0

Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60 days

Clinical Responsibilities

The physician will provide anesthesia services independently for a variety of surgical procedures, including:

• Orthopedic surgery
• Labor & Delivery
• Spine procedures
• Gastrointestinal procedures
• Gynecology
• Urology
• Cardiac catheterization lab procedures
• Interventional radiology
• Bariatric bypass surgery
• Minimal vascular cases

Support Team

• Anesthesia providers
• CRNAs
• Anesthesia technicians

Required Skills & Qualifications Required

• Board Certified physician
• Completion of residency training
• BLS certification
• DEA registration
• Availability confirmed at time of name clear
• Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation

Preferred

• Active Nebraska medical license
• Providers holding an Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) license or willing to obtain a Nebraska license will be considered
• Clean malpractice history

• Comfortable practicing independently in a broad hospital-based anesthesia setting
• Experienced managing multiple surgical subspecialties and call coverage
• Able to work efficiently in a collaborative perioperative environment with anesthesia support staff
