Hematology/Oncology Physician Assistant
We are seeking a Physician Assistant specializing in Hematology/Oncology for a locum tenens opportunity beginning August 3, 2026. This outpatient-focused assignment offers the opportunity to work within a growing oncology program alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team in a collaborative clinical environment.
The provider will primarily support outpatient oncology services with occasional inpatient consults as needed. The ideal candidate is flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced oncology setting managing a diverse patient population receiving advanced cancer therapies.
This is a 6-month assignment with a strong preference for full-time coverage, though near full-time availability may be considered.
About the facility- Acute Care Hospital
- Outpatient Oncology Clinic
- Trauma Level III/IV
- 15 infusion chairs
- EMR: Epic (AI-assisted charting available)
- Practice setting: Primarily outpatient with occasional inpatient consults
- Average patient volume: 18-20 patients per day
- Oncology treatments include:
- Chemotherapy
- Immunotherapy
- Targeted therapy
- Hormone therapy
- 1 MD
- 1 NP
- 3 CNA/CMA staff members
- Monday Friday schedule
- 1-hour lunch break
- Overtime as needed
- Cell phone use permitted and may be needed for AI charting tools
- Call-in process: Notify Director by phone or text
- Professional attire required
- Closed-toe shoes required

Job Responsibilities- Evaluate and manage hematology and oncology patients in an outpatient clinic setting
- Administer and monitor oncology treatment plans
- Manage patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy
- Conduct patient assessments, follow-up visits, and treatment evaluations
- Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, and support personnel
- Document patient encounters using Epic EMR
- Provide occasional inpatient consult support as needed
- Physician Assistant certification required
- Board Eligible or Board Certified accepted
- Active New York license required at time of submission
- Epic EMR experience required
- Hematology/Oncology experience preferred
- Must have updated work history
- No employment gaps greater than 30 days
- If any malpractice history exists (dismissed or not), physician statement required

- Shift Hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- 1-hour lunch break included
