Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician
ATC West Healthcare is seeking a locum tenens OB/GYN physician to provide 24-hour emergency department call coverage for both obstetric and gynecologic patients. This position is focused exclusively on inpatient ED call responsibilities with no clinic or office duties. Providers may remain off-site but must be able to respond within 20 minutes of the hospital when on call.
Important: The medical staff office (MSO) requires the credentialing application to be completed within 3 days of confirmation, regardless of the assignment start date.

Schedule Details:
- 24-hour OB/GYN ED call coverage
- No clinic or office patients
- Physicians are not required to stay in-house
- Must maintain a 20-minute response time
- Average callback hours: 5 7 hours per day

Clinical Responsibilities:
- Full-scope OB/GYN care
- Obstetric and gynecologic emergency coverage
- Vaginal deliveries
- Cesarean sections
- Gynecologic surgeries
Patient Volume:
- patients per day
- Approximately 40 deliveries per month
- No NICU services available
Support Staff:
- Dedicated Medical Assistant
- Practice Manager
Required:
- Active California medical license
- OB/GYN residency completed
- Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation
- Ability to complete credentialing paperwork within 3 days of confirmation
Highly Preferred:
- Board Certified OB/GYN (Board Eligible accepted if actively on staff at another Joint Commission-accredited hospital without monitoring requirements)
- BLS certification
- DEA registration
- NRP and/or PALS certification by credentialing completion
- Clean malpractice and background history
- Local candidates
Additional Credentialing Requirements:
- Credentialing timeframe: days (emergency privileges may be available)
- Providers must hold active hospital staff privileges without restrictions, proctoring, or monitoring requirements; locum, courtesy, or per diem privileges alone will not satisfy this requirement for temporary privileges.
