Call Requirement

• 10 days of call per month

Practice Model

• Independent CRNA practice
• Full scope anesthesia care
• Reports to Chief Nursing Officer and Chief of Surgery

License & Certification Requirements

Required Licensure

• Active unrestricted Maine RN license
• Active unrestricted Maine CRNA license

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS

Education

• Master's Degree in Nurse Anesthesia required
• Doctorate preferred

Clinical Experience Requirements

Required Skills

• General anesthesia
• Regional anesthesia
• Airway management
• Vascular access procedures
• Post-anesthesia care
• Emergency response and resuscitation

Obstetrical Experience

• Labor & Delivery anesthesia coverage required

Patient Population

• Newborns
• Pediatrics
• Adults
• Obstetrical patients

Acuity

• ASA I-V patients

Practice Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Develop and manage anesthesia care plans
• Administer and monitor anesthetics
• Evaluate post-operative patients
• Participate in emergency airway and resuscitation events
• Perform anesthesia-related procedures
• Ensure proper anesthesia equipment function

Additional Responsibilities

• Staff education and training
• Leadership during cardiovascular and pulmonary emergencies
• Collaboration with surgeons and clinical staff

Ideal Candidate

Required Qualifications

• Active Maine RN and CRNA licenses
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Master's Degree in Nurse Anesthesia
• Ability to practice independently
• Strong leadership and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral degree
• Obstetrical anesthesia experience
• Experience managing a broad range of anesthesia cases
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills
