Anesthesiology Physician

Key Details- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens- Setting: Inpatient- Start Date: September 9, 2026- Schedule: Variable shifts, including days and night/weekend beeper call coverage; ongoing coverage needed 1-2 weeks a month- Patient Population: All Ages- Location: Eureka, CA- Stipends: Housing and travel options can be discussed for non-local candidates

Job Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive anesthesiology services.- Operate in several surgical areas including orthopedics, vascular, neuro, obstetrics, thoracic (excluding open heart), and pediatric cases.- Manage a variety of anesthesia techniques such as general, spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia surgeries.- Evaluate and handle acute volume and blood pressure management.- Perform central and arterial line placements.- Participate in post-operative care, including management of epidural and extremity blocks.
Qualifications- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.- Active medical license and DEA required.- Experience and proficiency in the required specialty skills and procedures.
Working Hours- Varies, including OB shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and Eve shifts (3:00 PM - 7:00 AM).- Call shifts may require being on standby during nights and weekends.- Providers will rotate shifts and ease into night duties after initial acclimatization on day shifts.
Skills- Proficient in various anesthesia techniques for adults and pediatrics.- Strong ability to manage complex and critical cases.- Expertise in regional and spinal anesthesia, obstetrical, neurosurgical, and complex vascular cases.- Capable of precise central and arterial line placements.- Effective team collaboration and communication with peers.
