Infectious Disease Physician

Facility in Cumberland, MD seeking Infectious Disease locums coverage Rates: $275/hr Position Overview The facility in Western Maryland is seeking a Board-Certified Infectious Disease Physician for full-time locum tenens coverage due to a turnover vacancy. This role offers a predictable weekday schedule with no weekends, holidays, or after-hours call. The physician will provide inpatient infectious disease consultative services and manage ongoing cases independently. Schedule & Coverage

• Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Start Date: Mid-May 2026
• Flexibility: Will consider locums available 4 days per week
• Estimated Shifts/Month: 20
• Call: Daytime call only during scheduled shift (telephone/beeper)
• No nights, weekends, holidays, or 24-hour call
• Privileges: Full privileges available
• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60 days

Clinical Responsibilities

• Daily inpatient rounding
• Responding to new infectious disease consults
• Managing adult infectious disease cases
• Coordinating care with hospital teams and specialists
• Documenting care using Meditech and Epic EMR systems

Practice Environment

• Patient Population: 100% adult
• APP Support: None
• Other Specialties On-Site: All except Rheumatology and Genetics
• Solo Coverage: Yes

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Infectious Disease
• DEA and CSR required
• Active Maryland license preferred, but licensing candidates will be considered
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Ability to start mid-May (exact availability must be specified)
