  • Location : Pender Medical Hospital, Burgaw, NC
  • Schedule : Full-Time, 0.9 FTE, 72 Hours per 2 weeks, 12 Hour Night Shift, 7p-7a

  • Onboarding: Comprehensive orientation and training program designed to set new team members up for success, with ongoing support from experienced preceptors and leadership.
What We're Looking For:
  • Education:
    - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
    - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
    - If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

  • Experience: One year of acute nursing experience required.
  • Preferred: One year of Intermediate Care or PCU Level of Experience.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    - Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
    - Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
What You'll Do:
  • Demonstrates strong assessment skills to uncover the patient's story, integrating subjective and objective data, physical and psychosocial factors, personal preferences, and learning needs. Utilizes ongoing data interpretation to recognize patterns and determine both immediate and future care needs.
  • Collaborates with patients and their support systems to identify priorities and incorporate preferences into individualized care plans. Engages the interdisciplinary team, identifies resources, sets realistic goals, and adjusts plans as patient needs evolve.
  • Acts as a patient advocate while implementing the interdisciplinary care plan. Collaborates with the healthcare team to educate patients, prioritize interventions, and ensure timely completion of nursing and medical treatments.
  • Administers and evaluates medication therapies, provides routine nursing care (IVs, dressing changes, etc.), and responds effectively in critical situations such as CPR. Safely transfers and transports patients and handles necessary equipment as required.
  • Continuously assesses patient progress toward goals and outcomes, seeking input from patients and their support systems. Modifies the plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to achieve desired results.
