We're seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join a team in Hayward, CA for a 13-week contract starting ASAP. This role follows a Monday-Friday schedule, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. Compensation is competitive: Travel rate $2,317/35 hrs; Local rate $2,282/35 hrs.

What you'll do:

  • Perform thorough physical assessments and review medical history to identify patient needs and baseline function.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehab professionals to build a coordinated plan of care.
  • Create individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals for rehabilitation and recovery.
  • Design and teach therapeutic exercise programs to boost strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use hands-on techniques-joint mobilization, soft tissue work, manual stretching-to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Apply modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold to help control pain, inflammation, and promote healing.
  • Train patients in the safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to maximize independence.
  • Provide education to patients and families about diagnoses, treatment strategies, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Implement pain management strategies combining therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual therapy.
  • Help patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness to improve daily functioning and quality of life.
  • Monitor and document progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as goals evolve.
  • Deliver personalized home exercise programs to support continued improvement outside of sessions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, progress notes, and any changes in condition.
  • Uphold ethical and legal standards, including patient confidentiality and informed consent, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Current, active state license to practice Physical Therapy.
  • Current CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (with AED).
