We're looking for an experienced Physical Therapist to join a contract/travel assignment in Northampton, MA, starting ASAP for approximately 14 weeks. This role follows a full-week schedule (Sun-Sat) from 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. Compensation is competitive: Travel pay $2,317/35-hr week or Local pay $2,282/35-hr week.

What we need from you

  • A valid, active Physical Therapy license for the state.
  • Current CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (AED included).

What you'll do

  • Perform thorough physical assessments and review medical histories to determine each patient's needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable rehabilitation goals.
  • Design and lead exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
  • Use hands-on techniques (joint mobilization, soft tissue work, manual stretching) to enhance mobility and relieve pain.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold to reduce pain, swelling, and promote healing.
  • Train patients in the safe and effective use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs).
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
  • Create and teach personalized home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery.
  • Develop and implement pain management strategies using therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual therapy.
  • Help patients regain independence after surgery, injury, or illness to improve overall quality of life.
  • Continuously monitor and document patient progress, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatments, progress notes, and any changes in condition.
  • Follow professional, ethical, and legal standards, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
  • Provide culturally sensitive care and adapt your approach to meet diverse patient needs.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
